How
to Have Peace With God!
THE
GREAT NEWS IS THAT GOD LOVES YOU AND WANTS TO HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH
YOU! IT IS A RELATIONSHIP OF LOVE AND PEACE! "...we
have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." - Romans 5:1 "For God so loved
the world (you) that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 Jesus said,
"...I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it to
the fullest." - John 10:10
Question:
Many people ask, "if God wants us to have peace and life, why don't most
people experience this life?
SIN
SEPARATES US FROM A HOLY AND LOVING GOD.
God created
us in His image to have eternal life and a personal relationship with Him. He
gave us a will and the freedom to choose - to love God and live for Him, or to
live for ourselves by our own standards. We chose to disobey God and live our
lives our own way. And, when we chose to live for ourselves, we also chose to
separate ourselves from God. "For
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23 "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to
his own way." - Isaiah 53:6 "For the wages of sin is death, but
the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans
6:23
Question:
"Since I've made that choice, what can I do now about getting back with
God? If I decide to change my ways, start doing good things, treating people
right, believing in God, and maybe start going to church, will that count enough
with God?"
Throughout
history men and women have tried through many methods to find a way back to God.
Yet, He says...
"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death
(separation from God)." Proverbs 14:12
"But your sins have separated you from God and have hidden His face
from you, so that He will not hear." - Isaiah 59:2
Question:
"So, if I can't undo the choice I have already made, and I can't do
anything to earn forgiveness and my way back to God, does that mean I can never
get back to Him? Isn't there any way I can get back to God?"
GOD
HAS PROVIDED A WAY!
Because
God loves you, He has provided the way for you to have eternal life and a
personal relationship with Him. Jesus Christ is the only way to forgiveness of
sin and life. He died on the cross and rose from the dead, paying the penalty
for your sin and mine. Jesus is the way for us to have life and get back to God. "God
demonstrated His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ
died for us." - Romans 5:8 "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man can come
to the Father, except through me." - John 14:6 "For Christ also has
suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God..." -
1 Peter 3:18 "And this is the truth, God has given us eternal life,
and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have
the Son does not have life." 1 John 5:11-12
Question:
"What must I do to have Jesus Christ?"
YOU
MUST BELIEVE AND RECEIVE!
You
must believe with all your heart that Jesus is The Son of God, that He died for
you and was raised from the dead the third day. You must receive Him by asking
Him to come into your life, forgive your sins, and be your Savior and Lord. Jesus
said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and
opens the door, I will come into him and live with him and he with Me." -
Revelation 3:20 "But
as many as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children of God, even
to those who believe in His name." - John 1:12 "...if you
confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9
CAN
YOU THINK OF ANY GOOD REASON NOT TO RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST - NOW?
HOW
TO RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST!

Humble
yourself and admit to yourself and God that you are a sinner.
-
Be
willing to turn from your sins and turn your life to God.
-
Believe
that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins and that He rose
from the dead to give you eternal life.
-
By
praying, ask Jesus Christ to come into your life, forgive your sins, save
you, and take control by the Holy Spirit.
IF
YOU SINCERELY MEAN IT, PRAY SOMETHING LIKE...
"Dear
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I need your love and mercy. I believe
that You died for my sins on the cross. I want to turn from my sins. Please come
into my heart and life and forgive my sins. I turn control of my life over to
you as my Savior and Lord. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen."
DID
YOU SINCERELY PRAY ? IF SO...
"Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be
saved." - Romans 10:13
"He who has the Son (Jesus) has life; but he who does not have the Son
of God does not have life. I have written these things to you who believe in
the name of the Son of God, so that you may know for certain that you have
eternal life, and so that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of
God." - 1 John 5:12-13
WHAT
TO DO NOW!
God
wants you to grow in your spiritual life and in your relationship with Him. In
order to do that you should do several important things.

Share
Jesus with others often. Tell several other people right away that you have
just received Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.

Find
and join a Bible-believing evangelical church. They should believe the Bible
truths that you have just read. Become a faithful and active member in Bible
study, worship and service to others.

Be
baptized by immersion in the church you join. Jesus commanded us to follow
His example and be baptized to let our world know Jesus has given us a new
and eternal life.

Read
your Bible and spend time with God in prayer daily. Remember, God is very
interested in spending time with you. You meet Him in Bible study and
prayer. Your daily fellowship and relationship with Him must be the most
important thing in your life.
